M8 NDE System
If your background is in phase plane eddy current inspection work, the LIZARD® M8
system provides a familiar and easy to understand interface packaged within a Windows
environment. The same tool allows you to move into AC Field Measurement, LIZARD®
EMA (Electromagnetic Array) or FGI (Field Gradient Imaging) modes for more complex
inspections at no extra cost with . Compliant with EN1711 inspection work and the
only system on the market to fully comply with ASTM Standard E2261-
Crack depth calculations are based upon initial mathematical modelling further enhanced by advanced algorithms. Functionality checks demanded by international standards and quality assurance procedures are stored to provide high reliance on validity of inspection data.
A standard "plug and play" connection via RS232 or USB to any laptop (or PC) running a Windows™ operating system (including Vista) with the ability to copy screen data into other Windows™ applications for ease of reporting.
For rope access, restricted access or subsea operations an option is provided for a 250 metre remote connection.
Your existing probes for phase plane eddy current inspection work directly plug into the system, which provides a display mode and layout which is familiar to users of almost any standard eddy current instrument.
With a LIZARD® Probe the operator has a choice of continuing in phase plane mode (For small / single array sensors) or switching to LIZARD® AC Field Measurement/EMA/FGI operation where our patented planar array probes can be utilised.
The LIZARD® NDE system is an electromagnetic defect detection and corrosion mapping system for structural and materials integrity assessment.

LIZARD ® provides uncompromising performance in one low cost instrument whether your need is LIZARD® Electromagnetic Array, Lizard® AC Field Measurement, advanced LIZARD® Field Gradient Imaging (FGI) or Classic Eddy Current inspection or choose a user defined combination of techniques to ensure total confidence in defect detection.

The user friendly and multi functional LISS software for the LIZARD® system running in a Windows™ environment enables the user to rapidly analyse data from an inspection in real time or post operation. Using a simple drop down menu format the data can be mapped to the screen in multi mode covering Field Gradient Imaging through Alternating Current Field Measurement to Classic Eddy Current and more. The facility is there for large arrays and the use of multi frequency inspection and defect length and depth sizing along the defect profile.
The LISS software is unique in its ability to provide Field Gradient Images of material deformation and change together with that of cracking. This package is in use by blue chip industry majors and custom versions of the LISS package are available for clients.
