To produce a device which would be placed on / near the inspected surface in order to detect defects without moving the device. The study has produced a device that demonstrates the theory works. Dear Sirs I am pleased to report working with the DTI and using a Smart grant the company has proved the concept for which they have now secured patents. The company can produce 3D images of the detected fault and have the ability to produce detectors that can be used in a way and in areas that present detection methods do not allow. The company is, highly innovative in their approach to NDT they have carried out a well-organized and well-managed project. Now the concept has been proven and the working model produced, they require to develop models for specific market NDT applications. The company has during the project produced a model for a specific market use on trains; I am more than happy to support the company in their endeavours to exploit this innovative technology and would encourage any potential customer to consider this technology to solve their NDT problems.
