Lizard technology for plane rail and switches and crossings inspection is demonstrated at the world NDT conference in Montreal this week at the AET Rail Group stand.

Visitors can see the equipment and technologies perform as well as replay site data through NEST software. The presence of experienced site engineers with many thousands of inspections will enable visitors to directly discuss their applications.

In addition to rail we are proud to show our contribution to rolling stock wheel inspection that has its origins in our FGI rail technology. At last a technology that can deal with the high density of surface transverse cracking on the running surface of wheels, and generate quantitative data.

Our rail technology was developed as a direct response to the need to detect, measure and quantify gauge corner cracking and head checking in railway rails, Lizard FGI imaging and its incorporation into a rail inspection tool was awarded the 'The Sir Robert Horton Prize for Most Significant Contribution to Safety' in addition other awards for engineering excellence. Proven hardware and software solutions are available for inspection of line and assessment of grinding operations. Coupled with Lizard NEST software FGI allows track engineers for the first time to assess existing damage, plan maintain and assess the effectiveness of grinding.

Lizard FGI is a proven technology with a record of over 20,000 on-site inspections performed. The combination of this new technology with remedial grinding works has enabled our clients to generate the confidence to remove speed restrictions and extend operating life of the most critical parts of the rail network.

Lizard FGI experience now extends to provide solutions for above and underground railway networks with real track data and field experience to address client applications. In addition to site experience our training program can now provide a field proven route to the rail industry to ensure the quality of operators.
