LIZARD® products are available for real time 3-dimensional multi-channel defect imaging system for research through to a complete range of field instruments for above and below water integrity assessment of engineering structures. Applications have already included manned space flight, theme parks, marine floating vessels and deep-water structures, chemical processing and oil refinery plants. Instruments are available for automated and robotic inspection of structural welds using EMA real-time defect imaging. In addition, there are also dedicated structural inspection systems for rope and difficult access as well as dive systems for marine structures and assessments of marine cathodic protection all with advanced field inspection software enabling full reporting and archiving NEWT have an international network of customers, representatives and distributors. Our operational use of the technology is unique and firmly supported by agreements and licensing with oil majors, aerospace, industrial international contracting and consulting organisations and Government organisations. LIZARD® EMA TechnologyWhen an alternating magnetic field is used to induce electric current in the surface of a material, and a sensor array is then positioned to monitor this current, the resultant high speed waveforms can be computer processed to determine properties of the material and detect the presence and size of defects. LIZARD®'s unique patented Field Gradient sensors offer the ability to electronically scan and synthesise multi-dimensional array element response from a planar array. Research and DevelopmentOur engineers are recognised as the pioneers for EMA technology development and innovation across the whole spectrum of structural integrity assessments. Our engineers have provided world class application solutions within areas as diverse as subsea robotic inspection of offshore steel jacket structures; plasma and friction welding of aerospace components; automated friction welding of tubulars and fundamental studies of EMA defect imaging. We have agreements with most of the oil majors, leading aerospace contracts, Defence Departments in the U.K. and U.S.A., major international structural contractors, the world's leading robotic companies and international consulting laboratories. Our research and development activities have culminated in many patents and technical papers. We are always available to explore new applications, directly or jointly with our agreement partners. Seminars and CoursesA wide range of seminars and short courses is offered ranging from our annual LIZARD® international User Group, through to two, three and five day courses covering theory, instrumentation and "hands-on" tuition. These are available for both new and experienced EMA practitioners. In collaboration with our training partners, The FORCE Institute Denmark (World leaders in materials testing and joining technology) provide internationally recognised training programs (ASNT, Nord Test etc.) Where necessary, these are provided on-site Worldwide.
