LIZARD® technology is driven by the realities on site and in the laboratory to provide
practical solutions to real inspection tasks. Each new development in our technology
is the result of client demand and is actively field tested by our own in-house NDT
inspectors and training partners. This on site experience has actively shaped the
LIZARD® technology and LISS software to become one of the most user friendly interfaces
in the advanced NDT industry whilst retaining the powerful capabilities of an advanced
NDE system. Fully compliant with EN1711, EN473 and ASTM E2261-07 the multi functional
LIZARD® system can be configured by the user under software control to inspect and
analyse the data set using either Electro Magnetic Array, Alternating Current Field
Measurement, Field Gradient Imaging, Classic Eddy Current or even to choose a combination
of interrogation methods to best suit the inspection task ahead.
The current generation of LIZARD® includes: portable, rope access, ROV and remote
systems for above and below water applications, all with multi-mode and archiving
capability. Dependant upon the requirement a suitable system is available or a custom
solution can be provided. The range of equipment also features the World's first
Field Gradient Defect Imaging "Camera" (FGI), whose numerous applications are growing
daily. The FGI arrays and applicable software mode are revolutionary, both in use
and design, by displaying the imaged data as a user configurable colour palette.
This allows not only crack data to be displayed and interrogated in a simple fashion
but also material property changes are now easily identifiable, further enhancing
the LIZARD® capability.
Our patented LIZARD® Field Gradient probes are available for almost any geometry.
The unique 2D planar array with asymmetric excitation can be configured to inspect
almost any 3D shape with arrays available in both manual and electronically scanned
versions. These are able to "see" through coatings in excess of 14mm dependent upon
application. Without the requirement to remove coatings significant time and cost
savings are now a reality. Indeed in many circumstances the removal and reinstatement
of some protective coatings has proved detrimental to the structure and is not always
a possibility, whether due to time or financial constraints or other factors such
as an environmental impact with the removal of some long term paint systems. Now
by using LIZARD® the structure or test piece can remain in position and completely
undisturbed by the inspection technique.
LIZARD® systems are available for real time 3D defect imaging for research through
to a complete range of field instruments for above and below water integrity assessment
of engineering structures. Applications have already included marine floating vessels
and deep-water structures, chemical processing, oil refinery plants, tank farms,
pharmacuetical plant, railway rolling stock and track, the space industry and various
theme park attractions. Custom applications are also catered for enabling the LIZARD®
to be specifically configured to suit, either with a specific array or a full dedicated
system dependant upon the client need.
